As per the reports of National Women’s health Information Centre, USA, one out of three women by the age of 60 has a hysterectomy done which also amount to 600,000 per annum. If you count the women in 40 plus age group with pre-menopause/menopause symptoms with this statistic you will know that a sizable women population of the country is suffering from hormonal constraint.

Have You Heard of Testosterone for Women?

Instagram-image-option-for-Dr-KhromYes, you read that right!

It’s not surprising, considering the important role testosterone plays in a woman’s health.  In fact, women produce up to ten times more testosterone than estrogen in their early reproductive years.  That means that focusing on increasing testosterone intake […]

enhance jawline in menYou’re entering your golden years, and you’re ready for all the wisdom, fun, and rounds of golf that come with them.  Unfortunately, you’re not exactly prepared for your expanding waistline – and it seems like no matter how much exercise you do, you just can’t seem to lose that weight.

It turns out, male weight gain could be blamed on your fluctuating hormone levels.  As you age, your cortisol levels start to increase, while your testosterone levels start to dip.  When this occurs, your body fat begins to increase, which is usually most evident around your midsection.

To make things even more complicated, the increase in body fat […]

Irritable Male Syndrome: What You Need to Know

shutterstock_92835067When it comes to the aging process, most people associate irritability with menopause; however, middle-aged men often experience irritability and hormone-related mood swings.

Andropause – a condition that afflicts middle-aged men in which their testosterone levels dip – typically causes irritability and mood swings in men between the ages of 30 and 60.  This irritability is caused by hormonal imbalances, which can also cause the following symptoms:

  • Weight gain
  • Decreased energy levels
  • Mental fogginess
  • Lower sex drive
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Loss of muscle mass
  • Depression

The official name for these mood swings is Irritable Male Syndrome (IMS).  IMS occurs when high cortisol levels (which can cause weight gain and anxiety) meet low testosterone levels.  These hormonal levels […]

A low libido is a common symptom of andropause, which typically occurs in middle-aged men who don’t produce as much testosterone as they did in their younger days.  In addition to a lower libido, andropausal men often experience fatigue, a decrease in muscle mass, and a general sense of lethargy.

Andropausal men may also experience difficulty getting and maintaining an erection.  This can be a frustrating experience for men who have previously enjoyed an active and healthy sexual appetite.

Fortunately, men […]
